I have met a number of people who are new to making money online since I’ve been in this business.
Most of the people who are new to internet marketing world are good at tons of skills such as being smart, doing extensive research, following trend setters, learning new things daily, etc. But, most of them have one thing in common: Being afraid of taking action.
Being afraid of taking action is like cancer. If you can diagnose the problem, understand the reasons for it, and start treating it, you might be successful. But if you spend months, even years with being afraid, it might be too late to take action on.
Why am I Afraid to Take Action?
Ask this question to yourself, be honest, and come up with your reason(s).
Do you spend countless of hours reading about a topic (e.g. google adwords), feel like you know everything about the topic, but don’t know how to launch your first campaign?
Do you lack of knowhow due to insufficient research & study?
Are you scared to take action because you don’t have the luxury of spending any money online?
Take a piece of paper, and write down: “Reason(s) Stopping me to Take Action:”
Ask every possible question you can think of to find out the reason(s) of being scared to take action, and write it/them down on the paper.
Solve the Problem
In the first step, if you were honest to yourself, you should have a piece of paper with the reason(s) that stop you from taking action with a title of “Reason(s) Stopping me to Take Action:“, correct?
Now, cross out the word Reason(s) and write down Excuse(s) instead.
There is absolutely NO reason to stop you from at least trying. All the reasons you’ve come up are your own excuses.
Take Action Today
Whatever the excuse you have, there’s a solution out there. Most of the solutions are in your mind. You should start with changing your mindset, and get ready to make money online.
Don’t ever be scared of failing in internet marketing, but always remember to take bearable risks for your situation, such as not risking your retirement fund.
Your success in internet marketing depends on your actions, so don’t wait another day, and take action today!

Great article. I was wondering what’s more important in your own mind: legacy or currency? I know it’s extremely important to monetize, but if your brand keeps failing, then the money opportunities might not come.
Tony, hard question to answer. Depending on the project, it can be both. Is it a short term affiliate campaign, or is it a long term brand site that I’m promoting? What are my short term & long term goals, etc.
I also agree 100%.
You can say that I’m promoting a long-term brand site and once I developed a good fan base (short-term goal), then monetizing will fall into place once people realize that I have a great thing going.

I ve got all of you write (include budget) to start affiliate campaign but somehow I dont start for months.
What is holding you from launching your first campaign? Do you know the exact reason?

I don’t afraid of losing money
. I think I cant see my way or next steps. If I start this work, what will be my next step, what are the tricks, etc…These are huge questions for me. ( Could you advise us any reliable source to find this question’s answers. I ve tried all of your previous advices)
Actually I ve been already working as a web site (advertisement) publisher for too many years. Affiliate marketing is so dark area for me.

I’m afraid… I’m really afraid to start something new…
Our office is about to close it’s doors for good and the bad thing is that my husband and I work at the same office so we both will loose our jobs pretty soon… For about 10 years we want to start up something but it didn’t happen. We don’t even know what should we do… Where do you start when you don’t even have a clue?

i am following most successfull internet marketers since december 2009 and all of them saying ACT NOW to people and they are always talking about impoprtance of taking action quickly on any project, and before 2009 since 2007, i was started to market products on the ebay and gittigidiyor.com. my first attempt to internet marketing was very successful because of my unique products unique prices and unique services,(all of these services was provided to me from a dropshipper) BUT, the dropshipper began to struggle and after that my business completely shut down on the net. Since december 2009, i started again to marketing and i liked the affiliate marketing, but it looks like too hard for me because couldnt find to right product and it is not as easy as selling on ebay. Now i have a new project and i started to apply in Turkey. But i always want to be perfect and if i dont see the results quickly i will become demotivated and my brain will come up with a new idea and i will start to think on it much more. My biggest fair of becoming unsuccessful is coulndt get traffic to my websites (i always prefer free methods, because cheap google PPC campaigns requires good knowledge and i dont have any experience on it.) However, if i make the long story short, can you give me some clues about getting targeted and quality traffic to a web site, i will be very happy.
